George Lehrfeld (AKA Howlin’ King Crawdad)- Songwriter, Vocals, Accordion, Piano, Guitar and Actor
A native to the San Francisco area of California and a child of Hollywood nobility, Lehrfeld started acting, and playing and teaching himself piano at age five. After spending numerous years in college, majoring in everything but music, he entered the music business by owning and operating, The Record Exchange in Burlingham, California for twenty years. During this time period he played keyboards with a variety of bands including, The Occupational Hazard, The Responsible’s, and The Psychedelics, playing every major venue in the Bay Area at the time including the Mabuhay and The Stone, as well as with comedy clubs hosted by Jay Leno.Relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2010, Lehrfeld performed with Sinsation, Jimmy Mack and the Blues Attack and The Kold Kats hosting regional musicians at The Sand Dollar Lounge.
Lehrfeld started Howlin’ King Crawdad in 1995 after a visit to New Orleans and loving zydeco
music. He regionally toured with the band and has worked to bring the zydeco genre and a love
of laughter, to the west coast and the Las Vegas area. When not playing music, George spends
his time charming women and throwing parties worthy of the Great Gasby.
Bill Bailey- Arrangement/Songwriter, Bass, Trumpet
A native to Nevada, Bailey started his musical career playing bass and trumpet in high school.
Bailey graduated from Berklee College of Music after majoring in arrangement/composition and
trumpet. Returning to Las Vegas, Bailey became the staff bassist at the Desert Inn Hotel &
Casino performing with musicians such as Mel Torme, Anthony Newley, Juliet Prowse, Jerry
Lewis and Broadway Productions such as A Chorus Line and Sophisticated Ladies. Bailey
augmented his career freelancing with acts such as Steve Lawrence and Edye Gorme, Diane
Carroll, Vic Damone, Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli. Bailey is a large supporter of the
local arts scene and regularly performs with the Las Vegas Symphony, the Las Vegas
Philharmonic, and is currently the Principal Bassist with the Nevada Chamber Symphony. As
well as being a fantastic musician, Bill is a heck of a nice guy and has earned himself entry into
the Las Vegas’ Fans Hall of Fame. He plays regularly with several local jazz, blues, and
bluegrass groups, adores his grandkids, homebrews, and leads a local cycling group.
Carrie Stowers (AKA Carrie Lynn Thibadeaux)- Vocals, Percussion, Rubboard, Guitar,
Piano, Actress

Growing up in the hills of Pennsylvania, Stowers developed a love of folk music listening to her
grandmother yodel, stomp barefoot, and play the spoons for neighbors. She began singing in
church and at her mother’s keg parties at age four, dance (ballet, tap, Ukrainian and eventually
ballroom and burlesque) at age seven and piano lessons at age eight. During school, Stowers
continued to sing in choral and church groups serving as a lead alto and as a regularly featured
soloist. After college Stowers moved to Las Vegas to pursue a career protecting the environment,
a cause important to her. During this time, Stowers pursued several acting pursuits performing
for local theater companies and in regionally broadcasted commercials as well as learned to play
the drums and the guitar. She performed with several heavy metal/classic rock cover bands
including Finkbynder (lead vocals) and Just B (drums/backup vocals) and is currently a singer
and guitarist/percussionist with a local country cover band, Girl Haggard. Ms. Stowers regularly
travels to New Orleans and is intimately involved with its food, music and culture and feels
honored to be a part of Howlin’ King Crawdad, a band that incorporates so many of her lifelong
passions. Carrie has two beautiful daughters, is actively involved in local and national civic
causes, and is a tireless champion for causes related to the pursuit of happiness.
Douglas Brown- Percussion, Trumpet
Mr. Brown grew up in Detroit, Michigan and started playing piano at age nine and the cornet at
age eleven. In 1988 he witnessed three high school trap drummers playing “Subdivisions” by
Rush and bought his first drum kit the next day. Over the years Brown played the drums in
numerous jazz, heavy metal, and punk rock pursuits including Stompmonster, and Primeval
Scourge. He was a member of Gross Pointe North High School’s percussion and jazz ensembles
playing the xylophone, marimba, bells, traps, and snare. Brown attended Central Michigan
University, majored in Music Theory and performed with the CMU concert and marching bands.
During this time Brown played drums for Werenzen, an alternative cover band, Pooch (grunge/
metal/hip hop) and Radium, a locally ranked top ten band by Metro Times. He continued his
studies at Wayne State University and joined the Rebound Band performing regionally. Brown
moved to Las Vegas in 2006 and performed with Four Until Late (blues), Thunder Road Band
(southern rock), One Eyed Jack (80’s rock), as well as co-hosted a jam for musicians at Boomers
Bar. Doug is a happily married, sixth grade teacher at a Clark County School District Middle
School; a job he absolutely loves, in addition to the Howlin’ King Crawdad band.
Mark Medina- Guitar, Vocals, Arrangement
Originally from California, Medina has resided in Las Vegas for over thirty years and has played
with many of the top local blues artists including the late John Lee Hooker and Michael Burkes.
Mark is also a veteran of John Earl’s Boogieman band back in the early 1990s. Medina’s band To
the Moon tours regionally and he performs in the studio with talent in the R&B, country, rock and especially the blues scenes. When Mark isn’t shredding his ax, you’ll find him working out at the local gym.
Pat Bear- Guitar, Multimedia Artist
Ms. Bear is the band’s most multifaceted artistic member in every sense of the word. She left her
southern roots and life as a swamp mamma, pianist, truck driver, and front porch picker to be one
of Las Vegas’ most well known musical and artistic leaders. She’s held board positions on the
Las Vegas Blues Society, Charisma for youth modeling, was a beauty pageant judge and a union
steward; and seems to have friends everywhere. She was employed for years as a marketing and
events coordinator and won numerous awards for her artistic endeavors including; the Best Use
of Theme for her float featured during Las Vegas’ Helldorado Parade, the Doonesberry Award for
Best Street Painting, as well as a 1st Place Award for her exhibit with the Las Vegas Convention
and Visitors Authority. She is a muralist for First Friday’s Art District and regularly paints live
during concerts held at venues such as Las Vegas’ Brooklyn Bowl. Throughout her life, Pat
continued her love of guitar and songwriting, and brought this musical talent, as well as her ever
consistent morale boosting charm, to Howlin’ King Crawdad and her many fans.
Tom Flagg- Mandolin, Trombone, Trumpet, Bass, Euphonium, Ukulele, Guitar, Vocals
Originally from Upstate New York, Flagg has lived and played in Southern Nevada since 1978
where he studied at UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada playing in their concert bands
and orchestras. He has played with a number of award winning bluegrass and acoustic music
bands over the years including Dry and Dusty, Ernie Cockerel and the Rising South, Out of the
Desert, and has recorded several well received CDs of bluegrass and acoustic fusion music with
Junior Hot Cell and the Yucca Mountain Boys. Flagg regularly plays with civic symphonies,
concert bands, and brass ensembles, as well as blues, rock, country, and jazz bands. A
multitalented instrumentalist, Mr. Flagg is used within Howlin’ King Crawdad for colorful fills
with artistic flair. Tom is a true gentleman, a genuine friend, and can always be called on for a
smile and a kind word.

Years of loud Rockin’ & Rollin’ surfaces in his hard edge guitar attack. Yet shades of Jazz leak out through his more sensitive moments.
After several decades of hibernation rising his pride, he is roaring his way back onto the stage! This Las Vegas musician is determined to spread the gospel of the blues before he goes to the great recording studio in the sky. Seasoned by the struggles of life, this weathered bluesman is letting the decades out through his 6 string blues machine.

Currently in the top 10 on Reverbnation.com Las Vegas Blues Charts his fan base is growing daily. The place to hear samples and contact Joe is at:
